Logbook
Give careful thought when setting up your log book. While conducting your research and experimentation, keep DETAILED notes about each and every experiment, measurement and observations and activity you do. Please use lined paper or computer paper for your logbook so that it can be attached to your presentation board. Every entry should be dated.
Remember when conducting your experiments, plan on doing your experiment several times and record everything in your notebook. Please note that some experiments may not work on the first try.
As the experiment proceeds, all the observations and any other ideas related to your experiment should be written in your notebook. How you organize your notebook is up to you, but all entries need to be dated at the top of each page. Remember the logbook is detailed day-by-day notes from the first brainstorming session through to your last work session.
Each logbook should contain the following title page….
Title Page
Title of Science Project
Question
Student’s Name
School
Grade level
Research Start Date
Research End Date
Experiment Start Date
Experiment End date
**The logbook is the single most important part of the science fair project. It is the proof you have that you conducted the experiment**
