Materials & Procedures
Materials & Procedures (From Science Buddies)
Complete a list of materials you will need to conduct your investigation and the procedures to complete the experiment. Your procedures or experiment will be the process by which you prove or disprove your hypothesis. Make sure your experiment will answer your question and only your question. At this point begin doing your experiments (if you haven't already), keeping very accurate records in your logbook of everything you do. Record all your failures and successes. Keep track of all the steps you performed and all tests you make in your notebook. When necessary use a control as well. It is suggested that you develop charts and/or graphs to display the data from your experiments. (The NCES Kids' Zone has excellent tools for creating graphs!)
