Results & Conclusion
Results
When writing your results keep the following in mind……
- What were the results of your experiment?
- Keep clear, precise records (In your logbook!)
- Do your experiments again to check your results? (Do your experiment twice if possible).
- Have you eliminated all variables (conditions that could affect your answer but for which you are not testing)?
Your results are usually written in statement form, which explains or interrupts the data. You DO NOT need to give a full explanation or details. One or two sentences will do.
Example: “The car traveled farthest on the smoother surface, as compared to the surfaces with the sand paper and aluminum foil”.

Conclusion
OK, you're almost done! You asked a question, did an experiment, and did the experiment a second time. You recorded your results and now it is time to write a conclusion. Your conclusion maybe 1-2 paragraphs.
The conclusion, plain and simple, is the answer to your question. It should be clear, be concise, and stick to the point. Try to avoid jumping to conclusion. Use your data to write your conclusions.
Things to remember when writing your conclusion…
- What happened when you tested your hypothesis? Was your hypothesis supported or not supported? Why did this happen?
- If you were to do the experiment again, would you get the same results?
- What have you learned?
My conclusion (written in paragraph form):
